Who we are

Paroot is a content analysis tool. It measures which short-form posts break out, works out the format behind them, and drafts new posts for the accounts its users own. This policy explains what we store and why.

For any question about your data, contact info@paroot.io.

Account information

When you register we store your email address and an encrypted password hash. We use them to sign you in and to contact you about the service. We do not send marketing email.

TikTok data, when you connect an account

Connecting a TikTok account is optional and always initiated by you. It uses TikTok's official login, so we never see or ask for your TikTok password. You choose which account to connect and TikTok shows you what access is being granted before you agree.

With your permission we retrieve and store:

  • Your public profile — display name, username, avatar image and profile link
  • Your account statistics — follower count, following count, total likes and video count
  • Statistics for your own posts — view, like, comment and share counts, with the title, thumbnail and publish date
  • Access and refresh tokens, which are what allow us to refresh those statistics without asking you to sign in again

We use this only to show you how your accounts and posts are performing inside your own dashboard. We do not read your direct messages, your drafts, or anything belonging to accounts you have not connected.

How tokens are protected

Access and refresh tokens are encrypted before they are written to the database, using a key held separately from the data. Anyone reading the database without that key cannot use the tokens. They are never sent to your browser, never written to logs, and never shared.

Publicly available data we analyse

Separately from any connected account, the service analyses publicly visible posts from creators our users choose to follow as benchmarks. This covers post URLs, captions, hashtags, publicly displayed counts, and the media itself, which is analysed to describe the format. This data is gathered from public sources, is used to explain why a post performed well, and is never used to identify or contact anyone.

Automated analysis

Media and text are sent to third-party AI providers to produce the format descriptions and drafts the product exists to create. These providers process the content to return a result and are not permitted to use it to train their models. No account credentials are ever sent to them.

How long we keep it

Account and performance data is kept while your account is open, because the product's value is the comparison over time. Delete your account and we remove your data, including all connected-account records and tokens.

Disconnecting a TikTok account

You can disconnect a connected account at any time from the dashboard. Disconnecting deletes the stored access and refresh tokens immediately, and we stop retrieving anything further from that account.

You can also revoke our access directly from TikTok, under Settings and privacy → Security and permissions → Manage app permissions. Doing so stops access straight away, whether or not you disconnect here.

What we never do

We do not sell your data. We do not share it with advertisers or data brokers. We do not post anything to your account without you asking us to, and we do not use your connected account to interact with anyone else.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of the data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to the address above and we will respond within 30 days.

Changes

If this policy changes materially we will say so in the product before the change takes effect. The date at the top always reflects the current version.
